Non-Woven Abrasives are three dimensional abrasives typically used to provide the final surface finish which is critical to the appearance and performance of the workpiece. Abrasive grains are bonded to flexible nylon fibers, which produces a cushioned three dimensional material that is long lasting and able to conform to the surface of the workpiece which provides a controlled, consistent finish. The “open weave” construction provides a continuous supply of new grain when fiber and old grain wear away. The flexible “spring-like” design reduces the chance of undercutting or gouging the work piece. Surface conditioning refers to the changing of a product’s surface, without removing or damaging the base material. These products are used in mechanical operations and include discs and belts. Non-woven abrasives are ideal for deburring, cleaning and imparting the final surface finish to the workpiece.
